aidilfitri open hse @ meplewood drive

mama suruh bangun pukul 6 pg untuk prepare the foods tp dua2 terlajak tidur sampai kul 6.25.
so, addah mula la tolong mama hidang nasi dagang, letak pulut kuning, kuah sate, rendang dan mcm2 lg.
by 9, addah and adik naik mandi. when we're done, mama and ayah pulak bersiap. ayah pakai baju melayu, lengkap with the sampin and the songkok. mama pakai baju kurung warna merah. addah pakai baju kebaya and adik pakai baju kurung. both of us were in pink.
open hse start kul 10 but by 10.15 xde org sampai lg. biasenye aunt min or aunt shakila ame on the dot. so kiteorg dah start fikir yg dieorg lupa bout the opn hse. *ding*dong* yeay! aunt min&fam sampai dulu. so, first2 amik gamba dorang one fam then ayah iring dorang makan. then aunty shakila arrives. sarah pakai baju kebaya pink, azfa pakai baju melayu hijau. both aunt shakila and uncle azlan wore red. then mula la other guests sampai. all end at 12.30pm. kejap je coz nk pergi pomeroy pulak.

selamat hari aidilfitri and maaf zahir && batin dari kami,
professor dato hj mohamad hj abu bakar
toh puan hjh norhayati ahmad
mawaddah mohamad
mahirah mohamad
di athens, ohio, usa.
ayah cukup marah dengan pihak athens islamic center yang diuruskan oleh pak anton dan dibantu dengan seorang arab. salah satu sebab ayah marah ialah mengconfusekan pihak jemaah dengan waktu solat sunat aidilfitri. pada mulanya dijadualkan bermula solat pada pukul 9. ramai yang tidak setuju sebab dah lewat. then diaorang tukar ke 8.30.
kami sampai ke surau lewat 5 minit. ingatkan sempatlah sembahyang tetapi hampa kerana waktu ditukar semula ke pukul 8. mula-mula masuk bahagian perempuan, agak ramai juga. indonesians, arabians, indians and malaysians. kami sempat dengar khutbah tapi tidak berapa jelas sebab ramai budak-budak yang berlari sana sini, bising menjerit-jerit and menangis.
aunty laila mengundur diri selepas selesai khutbah. katanya, tak mahu join sebab makanan yg dibawa oleh arabians, was-was. memang pernah dengar, orang arab ni, beli ayam, daging kat local supermarket je. mama, addah, adik, aunty hani, ameer, aunty min and aishah makan makanan yang dibawa oleh indons and malays je. ade marcaroni bakar, mee goreng,dll.
it was snowing masa kita orang keluar dari surau. the first day. fascinating. uncle hisham undur kereta CRV dia so kereta ayah boleh keluar. we headed to aunty laila's home for raya. uncle ibrahim opened the door and invite us in. kak sajidah and khalila was preparing the foods. same goes with aunty laila. nasi impit, kuah kacang and some local malaysian foods yang addah tak tahu sangat nama dia. boleh tahan lah untuk hari yang sejuk maca hari tu.
addah asked mama if we wants to go beraya to rumah aunty shakila since she didn't go to the surau to perform the solat. masa kita orang sampai, sedih rasanya. dia pakai kaftan tidur and sweat shirt je. its hari raya but she's not even wearing a kurung or any kind of proper outfit. then uncle azlan keluar, wearing a sweater and a pajamas pants. mama said aunty shakila sebak because atleast kita orang pergi beraya rumah dia. kalau tak, tak ada orang nak datang.
balik rumah, mama cooked pulut kuning and rendang for lunch. i was busy text messaging. adik was on the internet. ayah was reading his books or the newspaper, i don't really remember.
just after maghrib, mr rota arrived, not alone but with a dozen of orange and red roses. then we all got ready to go to aunty min's house. we ate nasi impit and rendang too.
raya tahun ni tak best. especially when beraya without your family. mi is in mak long's house. i bet mak long beraya sakan when it is the first time they beraya at their new mansion. ayah long, according to mama enjoyed buying "kuih tunjuk". mesti buat open house grand punya. jealous betul.

petang raya.

we all celebrate raya on monday, oct 23rd.
sama macam abang, kak yana and hadiff and other muslims there in england, UK.
malaysia celebrate raya on tuesday.
fair enough they started fasting a day after we started.
mama was so girang with the raya celebration.
after the last sahur, she wants me to decorate the house.
mula-mula malas juga then gave up.
so, buatlah those color letters that kita orang tampal kat dinding.
kuih raya pun dah siap.

happy nak celebrate raya. sedih juga sebab tak dapat raya with family kat malaysia but life goes on.
mama nak buat kuih raya. i helped her. adik tolong juga but not tolong as in "tolong". dia buat jokes je all along. these pics was some of her kerenah. cd lagu raya was bought masa balik malaysia, masa balik terengganu last august. we bought it at pasar kedai payang. that time, ayah was watching tv.

away to Washington DC for four days
|
|
it was friday when ayah told me that we might be going to washington dc on sunday. i have to take school off for two days since ayah punya meeting will be on monday. then that evening, mr rota wants to go there by his own so we end up going there on saturday.
the journey took us 6 hours. masa sampai, the MARA house was closed. my cellphone dah habis battery, credit da agak low sebab duk sms je dlm perjalanan. mama was so angry with me. 
aunty radziah came but she did not have the keys. then dia called uncle ibrahim (another ibrahim, not ustaz ibrahim in athens). fuuuushhhh.. merc compressor warna merah!~ sakit mata.. 
the next day pergi washington memorial, white house and the smithsonian museums.
berbuak puasa with other malaysians at aunty radziah's house. there's some girls at my age. bestnya kalo duk sini. lebih-lebih lagi ade some hot malay dudes.
